“From the close planted vineyard at St Andrews with vines planted in '76, '95 and '03. The warm '16 vintage makes its mark. Dark garnet, concentrated looking and brooding in nature. Ripe, almost cooked plum. Dark berries, with brown spices underpinning. Rather than losing shape, there's a corset of fine tannin, oak spice and firm acidity holding it all together. "From a single block of 0.25ha planted at 8320 vines per/ha. So many similar attributes to the standard Pinot, but different, better in every way. More precise fruit, more spice and complexity, more lift. Fresher, brighter, with a fine tannin flow through the core of the wine, leaving a satin-like texture, and superior length.
