Grown by us on our historic and iconic Lance's Vineyard, established 1976, one of the oldest vineyard in the Nillumbik subregion of the Yarra Valley. Time has shown this vineyard to consistently be one of Australia's most distinguished sites.

2018 Punch Lance's Vineyard Chardonnay x 2

Whole-bunch pressed directly to barrel, wild-yeast ferment, 10 months on lees in French oak. Looks good in the glass with a glowing green/gold hue. Matchstick, toasty oak, stone fruit and citrus vie for attention on the bouquet, and it's an attractive combination. Lowish alcohol from a fairly warm year has worked well here, capturing both flavour and freshness on the palate and finish. 93 Points" Halliday Wine Companion

2018 Punch Lance's Vineyard Close Planted Pinot Noir x 2

"Open-fermented with wild yeast, 13 months in French oak, 50% new. Yarra Valley pinot royalty with much history – always a pleasure to taste. Gamey and brooding at this stage of its life. The fruit is yet to fully emerge it seems, from the concentration and complexity of the dense texture, the tannin and the oak, but the underlying dark plum and cherry characters are there. This needs time in the cellar to unfold and flourish. 95 Points" Halliday Wine Companion

2018 Punch Lance's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon x 2

“From 1976 plantings, destemmed but not crushed, whole berries fermented with wild yeast. 17 months in French oak. That oak is prominent on the bouquet, with its cedary character to the fore, the currant-like fruit aromas developing in the glass. On the generous side of medium bodied, the cassis and red-berry flavours are framed by gently persistent tannin which lingers through the finish. A fine Yarra cabernet with its best years ahead. 93 Points” Halliday Wine Companion

These wines, being unfiltered, may have developed a slight deposit in the bottle, so settling and careful pouring/decanting is recommended.
