2019 Punch Lance's Vineyard Chardonnay x 2

From vines planted in 1984 in Nillumbik. Whole-bunch pressed directly to barrel (30% new). Natural ferment with zero mlf. Matured 10 months in oak. A bright green gold. White peaches and nectarine, some lemon oil, yuzu and citrus blossom together with hints of oatmeal biscuit. This has terrific drive, with a savoury edge complementing the textured, layered palate. Finished long and satisfying. 93 Points" Halliday Wine Companion

2019 Punch Lance's Vineyard Close Planted Pinot Noir x 2

"Planted in 1989, this tiny 0.25ha vineyard houses the oldest close-planted pinot vines in the Yarra Valley. 30% whole bunches, 17 days on skins. Matured 13 months in barrel, 50% new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. A very bright, medium, crimson red. Lifted and aromatic with exotic forest-floor fruits, ferrous notes, pomegranate and whole-bunch-derived dried herbs and fennel seeds. The equally impressive palate is concentrated, layered and effortless. This is a pleasure to drink, even now. Ripe, fine and persistent tannins make for a wine that will provide years of enjoyment, but you will need to be quick: only 80 dozen were made. 96 Points" Halliday Wine Companion

2019 Punch Lance's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon x 2

“From 1976-planted cabernet vines, in Nillumbik. Only 600 bottles made and, according to the label, I tasted bottle number 143! Matured 17 months in 1st- and 2nd-use French oak. A deep, almost impenetrable, purple red. Concentrated and reticent with aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, cedar and ironstone pressings. Textured and layered with ripe, dusty tannins. A class act that will reward at least 10 years in a cool, dark place. 93 Points” Halliday Wine Companion

These wines, being unfiltered, may have developed a slight deposit in the bottle, so settling and careful pouring/decanting is recommended.
