Grown by us on our historic and iconic Lance's Vineyard, established 1976, one of the oldest vineyard in the Nillumbik subregion of the Yarra Valley. Time has shown this vineyard to consistently be one of Australia's most distinguished sites.
“From 0.8ha planted in '84 in Nillumbik. Zero mlf. A deep-ish but bright green gold. An unctuous-smelling wine with its bouquet of melon fig fruit together with roasted hazelnuts and a little vanillin. It's rich and mouth-filling on the palate, too, but it's also saline, nutty and long. Not exactly sure how long I'd keep it but what I do know is that it's a delicious, richly flavoured wine now. "From a 2ha vineyard at Nillumbik and planted in '76, '98 and '03. 10% whole bunches, minimal new oak. A bright, medium ruby red. A lovely bouquet with perfumed, ripe red cherry, peony and a little incense. Medium bodied, this is fragrant and textured on the palate while tannins are velvety and rich. One of those wines that, when you drink your last bottle 6–10 years from now, you'll wish you had more of! 95 Points" Halliday Wine Companion
"From a 0.25ha close-planted vineyard established in '89. A medium, bright crimson. Beautiful pinots from Punch in 2023. A few good swirls reveal a gorgeously perfumed nose redolent of red and black fruits, dark red roses and subtle spice. There's an old-vine creaminess on the palate and dense yet very fine-grained tannins. Very long on the finish – you just know that this will age superbly. “From a tiny 4ha vineyard planted in '76. A deep, crimson red, this is just a touch lighter and leafier than the '22. Aromas of red and black fruits together with a little bell pepper and violets can be found in this medium-bodied, fragrant and nicely poised wine. This is a wine that will be provide a considerable amount of pleasure over the next 6–8 years. Only 49 dozen produced. 95 Points” Halliday Wine Companion
