Grown by us on our historic and iconic Lance's Vineyard, established 1976, one of the oldest vineyard in the Nillumbik subregion of the Yarra Valley. Time has shown this vineyard to consistently be one of Australia's most distinguished sites.
“From a 0.8ha vineyard planted in Nillumbik in '84. A very bright green gold. Complex with aromas of ripe stone fruits, acacia honey, nuts and a little fresh vanilla nougat. Even better on the concentrated, structured and very nicely balanced palate, which finishes lemon pithy and long. While the '23 is pretty much ready to drink now, this has a very promising future. 95 Points" Halliday Wine Companion
"10% whole bunches. A medium, ruby red. Demure with dark fruits, sandalwood incense and lightly crushed violets. Medium bodied and gently mouth-filling, with fine-grained yet firm tannins making for a wine that'll need a couple of years for it to both shed some tannin and open up. 92 Points" Halliday Wine Companion
“From a tiny 4ha vineyard planted in 1976. A deep, plummy red. With its core of dark fruits, dark chocolate shavings, freshly-turned earth and gentle waft of cigar box, there's a lot going on here! Equally good on the plush yet dense, well-detailed and structured palate. A wine that will evolve slowly yet surely over the next decade or more.
